Clinical significance and prognostic role of tumor-associated macrophages infiltration according to histologic location in canine mammary carcinomas

Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) have been involved in growth and metastases of human canine mammary tumors. However, the prognostic importance TAM specific location tumors (CMT) was not evaluated. In this study, we evaluated potential role TAMs histologic locations – intratumoral (iTAM) stromal (sTAM), as well total macrophage (tTAM) counts indicators CMT. High levels iTAM, sTAM, tTAM related advanced clinical stage vascular invasion. Additionally, revealed a relation larger tumor size, while high sTAM also correlated node metastasis poor prognosis based on survival analysis.
